To put our situation in His Word is to bring it to life in our life© ~Kim-Evinda

It was as if a light had been turned on and she was seeing this for the very first time.

Thanks for joining us for Wednesday’s Word with Kim-Evinda and Trench Classes United. Today’s blog is a great reminder that His Word is alive and speaks to us right where we are at, especially when we put ourselves in it.

She dove a bit deeper into this portion of scripture in the Book of John, Chapter 4, verses 1-26, admitting that she had just assumed she knew what it meant in years past and while she was partially correct, the parts she had missed shot an arrow that went straight for the eyes of her heart.

The find was so profound that she couldn’t help but speak aloud to herself: ”I always thought it meant that You, God, teach us to respect someone right where they’re at?” The question hung in the air but not for long.

That was part of it,” she heard.

Verse 10 had always been a mystery to her, not one she really understood until now. The realization hit her like a bullseye to the heart and she didn’t waste any time acknowledging that she’d always wondered why He mentioned “Living Water” to this woman, at this point in her life.

She was overwhelmed with the pieces as they came together forming the picture He wanted her to see, in full color. She gasped at its beauty, immediately humbled by its depth of truths. And one by one, they pierced her soul, separating bone from marrow and landing safely:

Jesus had gone out way of His way to meet the woman at the well. In other words, the way He traveled was the long way, out of the way. It would be like taking that Zzyzx Road on the way to Vegas; it would take hours longer to get there.

She was someone who had been scorned so many times before by men and society because of her need for love. She had been labeled unclean; what our generation would consider a prostitute.
Jesus didn’t condemn her; He convicted her.

He offered her His love, the Living Water, which would never leave her or forsake her, unlike the love she had experienced all of her life.

As the realizations and revelations collided with the pain of her last relationship, she couldn’t help but utter aloud: “I am she”!

Friend, the scriptures are full of life experiences. Can I encourage you to put yourself in them, and watch His words come to life in your life.

Love,
Kim-Evinda
