So how do we protect ourselves healthily without being so rigid? One of the three ways is being in touch with what you are feeling as that will tell you what you need.
See, we all have an emotional dashboard; however, many times we ignore it. To explain, if I were to step on your foot, hopefully you’d say ouch. But when someone says or does something to hurt you, what do you do? Many times, we just stuff it and keep going until….there’s no more room to stuff.
I have learned and would love to share with you this truth: Learning healthy boundaries creates healthy expectations and frees us to live flexibly and not so rigidly.
