To be eternally minded is to not be externally distracted© ~Kim-Evinda

When you think of what personally distracts you from being eternally minded, what comes to mind?

Thanks for joining us for Monday’s Message with Abigail Rice and Trench Classes United. Today’s message is a great reminder that when we press into things with eternal value, we won’t be so externally minded.

We hear chatter all over the news and media
Regardless of what you subscribe to
You hear it
The chaos
The turmoil
The “which chapter of Revelation are we living today” jokes
But all jokes aside
The main precipice of it all
Is time
We live in a realm of time
In a futile body
Of flesh and bones
That can one day decide to go
To cross to the other side
But while we are here
On this earth
Our mission is simple
I heard it put simply the other day:
Our job as followers of Christ is to create disciples that will create disciples
And I don’t think it could be any simpler than that
Except it’s not
Because so many of us are distraught
So many of us are seeking the next thing
That this world could bring
We are so focused on our tiny bubble
We forget the main thing
The bigger picture of it all
Is one day
This earth will pass away
And we will be met face to face
With our Creator
Our King
Suffice it to say
Both the joy and the fear that knowledge brings
Always leads me to think
What am I doing today that will last for eternity?
Other than raising my three boys
My hope and joy
Is to write a few words
That can hopefully pour
Our knowledge of truth
To save a soul
Or two
I don’t get to decide where my words go
Or who reads this typeface
But I do get to decide to obey
and for the past few years I have been ruminating
On editing and republishing my Great Grandpa Frank’s words
Mixed with thoughts and writings of my own
Because I can now see looking back at my own very personal journal entries
How much his words and works pertain to our current reality
Because I know I am not, nor will I ever be the only one that fights battles in the unseen
and with the headlines of our world become so dark and so dire
The time is now or never
For these words to transpire
Because I know one thing for certain
Our souls never expire…
and neither do words
Great Grandpa Frank wrote quite a few back in 1928
and those words are still relevant if not today more than ever
For The Spirit which is From God
Has bread to still leaven

“He told them another parable: The kingdom of heaven is like leaven (sour dough) which a woman took and covered over in three measures of meal or flour till all of it was leavened.” Matthew 13:33

“So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11 AMPC
