Did you know that the tallest buildings in the world are built to yield? In other words, there are many forces that engineers think about as they design and engineer the creating of the tallest structures known as skyscrapers. The engineers don’t know when these forces will hit; they just know that they will.
For example, when the wind blows, one side of the skyscraper stretches while the other side is built to compress, thus keeping the building intact. When an earthquake occurs, because of the engineering and design, the skyscraper can tolerate, to a certain extent, a shift in the ground caused by the earthquake.
When things happen that bring a shift in our world, a change to our schedule or a deviation from our already well-planned agenda, do we yield or does rigidity keep us unyielding and collapsing with frustration?
